Springfield, MA - Main Street & Convention District

In September 2023, Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, and the Springfield Redevelopment Authority (SRA) selected McCaffery Interests Inc. as the preferred developer for three significant Downtown Springfield properties currently owned by the SRA. The three properties are located at 113-117 State Street, 1139-1155 Main Street, and 11-21 Stockbridge Street, totaling over 130,000 gross square feet. Aspects of McCaffery’s proposal which were viewed as highly advantageous included the company’s commitment to the historic preservation of both the Clock Tower and Colonial buildings, the desire to undertake a mixed-use housing and commercial development as adaptive re-use of what was predominately office space, and the company’s understanding of and significant experience with curated ground floor retail.
