Washington DC

McCaffery Interests and the Douglas Development Corporation are planning to expand, renovate and restore the existing complex of Historic Buildings located at the vibrant northeast corner of 7th and H Streets Northwest in Washington, D.C. The four-level, plus basement, Corner Building will be renovated and restored for first-class retail tenants. Opportunities will be studied to vertically expand the smaller buildings located north and east of the Historic Corner Building. The lower floors of these structures will be devoted to retail use, with possible office occupancies located above.

The proposed restoration and renovation of the Corner Building will include repairing and restoring the exterior masonry and roof parapets, replacing the existing windows, replacing the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, installing elevators and restoration of other key interior building elements. The historic first-floor storefronts of the Corner Building will be carefully restored and rebuilt. This restoration effort will be carefully coordinated with the District of Columbia Historic Preservation Office and also with the Commission of Fine Arts.
